Cannes has a wide selection of accommodation options for the visitor, thanks to it's successful conference centre where it has to cater for thousands in any given week. Indeed, this can drive prices up if your visit happens to coincide with one of the bigger conferences. The best accommodation is overlooking the Croisette promenade and the sea, with better priced options being found in the streets behind the central shopping district.
Apartments in Cannes
Many apartment rentals can be found in Cannes, ranging from exclusive penthouses to cute little fishermen's houses in the old town of Le Suquet. Well priced apartment rentals are available to either side of Cannes in Cannes La Bocca to the west and towards Golfe Juan in the east.
Again, Cannes is not overwhelmed with B&B's or guest houses, there are a few located away from the centre but in general it seems that hotels or apartment rentals are your main choices in Cannes.
Villas in Cannes
If you prefer to rent a villa, you have more options in the outskirts of Cannes, specifically the area to the east of Cannes known as Super Cannes. Otherwise, the hills above Cannes towards Mougins offer further options.
Cannes has this glamorous reputation and so it is no surprise that it is awash with luxury hotels. The most famous are on the Croisette (Hotel Martinez, Carlton Cannes Hotel & Hotel Majestic Barriere), but there is a super selection of five star properties within the street grid just behind the promenade. If a more rural setting is preferred, try the lovely hill village of Mougins, a 10 minute drive away for beautiful luxury properties with more space and sea views.
Boutique hotels in Cannes
Cannes does not have many boutique hotels in the classic definition of the genre ( for us it's normally less than 20 bedrooms), but there are still plenty of uniquely styled luxury hotels in Cannes that would classify themselves as boutique. Additional choices for a boutique hotel stay include Mougins, Grasse and Theole sur Mer.
Budget hotels in Cannes
There is a good selection of budget friendly hotels in Cannes, located mainly in the streets behind the promenade. These include all the well known budget hotel chains as well as some independent offerings. Holiday villages set up with families in mind are located towards Mandelieu la Napoule and further down the coast to Saint Raphael.
