Having been a fan of the jewellery brand, Chopard, for many years singer Rihanna has now turned her multitalented and award winning hand to jewellery design.

The luxury brand and official sponsor of the Cannes Film Festival has announced a nine-piece limited edition collection with singer Rihanna, inspired her native country of Barbados and its famous Carnival festival. Co-designed by the pop diva and Chopard's co-president and creative director Caroline Scheufele, the collection is defined by minimalist geometry and sharp, clean lines.

Celebrating not only the festival's 70-year long history but an enduring twenty-year partnership between Chopard and the red carpet the collection, 'Rihanna Loves Chopard', will debut at Cannes during the festival in May and pieces will then be available in June. Only 2000 editions of each design will be created with pre-orders already taking place (online or in Chopard boutiques) from early April.

"I have always been in love with Chopard's exquisite jewellery, so to actually design collections with them is something I still can't believe," says Rihanna in the brand's release. "It was a really incredible process and I learned so much! I can't wait for everyone to see it."

Another reason for the singer to make an appearance on the red carpet is that she recently starred in Luc Besson’s film, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which has been tipped to show at Cannes. The Cannes Film Festival takes place from 17th to 28th May 2017...we'll have our eyes peeled for Rihanna and this stunning jewellery.
