When deciding which airport to fly to for Cannes, in this instance we have only one main recommendation: Nice airport.
The second largest international airport after Paris, Nice Côte d'Azur receives flights from across Europe, the US, North Africa and the Middle East.
Nice Airport
It has two terminals, with a free shuttle between them, and easy access into the city of Nice just eight kilometres away. Regular buses depart Terminal 1, connecting with a regional train service and bus shuttles run every 20 minutes throughout the day. There are taxi ranks outside both terminals and offices of major car rental companies at arrivals.

- Travelling to Cannes: The most common methods of getting from Marseille Airport to Cannes are by train, bus or hire car.

Services & Facilities:
- Restaurants, Bars & Takeaways: There are 14 separate cafes & restaurants including several Starbucks outlets, a Burger King, many fastfood outlets and a speciality Provencal style restaurant. Mostly they will be found in Hall 1, but food & drink facilities are available in each Hall.
- Shops: The airport shops are split between Arrivals and Departures. They include the usual range of duty free and gift shops as well as perfumes, confection and speciality shops for the Provence region and Football. Generally speaking they are open between 07:00 and 20:30 365 days a year.
- Business Centre: Contains all the services to meet your business needs. Ideally situated in the heart of Hall 4, it has work areas both communal and private, plus meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 30 people. A VIP lounge is also available for those special guests and meetings, plus a range of refreshment options.
- Internet Access: Located Arrivals Hall 1, the Business Centre and Cezanne lounge - 3 computers managed by information office nearby. (Payment by visa card for 4 euros 50 minimum for 1 hour). Wireless Orange connections are available in boarding lounges of Hall 1, 3 & 4..
- Smokers: Smoking is prohibited inside all airport buildings.
- Cash & Currency: There is a branch of the Credit Mutuel bank inside the passenger terminal. There are also ATM machines located in Hall 1 (International Arrivals), Hall 3 (Domestic Arrivals) and Hall 4 ( Domestic Departures). Foreign currency exchange is avilable from the Travelex in Hall 1 in both departures and arrivals areas on the ground level. Open between 06:30 and 20:30.
- Sick Bay: The sick bay provides physical / psychological first aid for both passengers and staff. They can be contacted on +33 4 42 14 24 24. They are located in Hall 4 on the ground floor.

- Animals: Check with your airline before you book. Sometimes animals weighing less than 5kg and carried in a bag can be brought into the cabin, providing you have prior authorisation from the airline. Any animals weighing over 5kg must transported in the hold, in a secure cage that can be bought from the airline. This must be arranged in advance of the flight and will be charged at the same rate as excess baggage. Any questions regarding vaccinations and quarantine should be directed to the Service Vétérinaire Frontière.
Cannes Mandelieu Airport
Local airport for private and business flights to Cannes, this is one of the major airport gateways for private jet passengers flying into and from the French Riviera area. Mainly used for private or business trips, no scheduled airlines use the airport.
The airport was completed on its current site in 1930 by private individuals. Then, in 1937, it became a government airport, managed by the Air Secretariat. At that time, since it was the only airport for the whole of the Côte d'Azur, Air France flights landed at Cannes.
Marseille Provence Airport
Marseille is the largest and most conveniently situated airport for the South Coast of France; there are also good transport links to the Cote d'Azur, Provence and the rest of France and mainland Europe. Marseille Provence has 2 terminals - MP1 & MP2 which is the new low cost terminal.

Toulon Hyeres Airport
Toulon airport is an hour away by car from Saint Tropez and 49km in distance. It is a good access point for the whole of the Cote d'Azur and a gateway into Provence.
With regular flights to some of the major cities across Europe this is a good International hub. Destinations from this airport include: London City, Stanstead, Lyon, Paris, Brest, Brussels and Rotterdam. Cityjet and Ryanair operate flights in-between Toulon and the UK.
With good train, bus and road access to the airport, plus plenty of parking facilities and long-stay options this is a convenient destination to fly from. There are regular shuttles from Hyeres and Toulon, buses direct from St Tropez and of course the airport also accepts private jets & helicopters.
Nimes Ales-Camargue-Cevennes Airport
Linking London, Liverpool & Brussels to the Provence region, a mixed civilian and naval airport, Nîmes primarily handles international traffic on low-cost European routes.
Although there may be closer airports to the south coast, such as Marseille and Nice, Nimes offers a good connection to/from London, Liverpool and Brussels. It might also make a good first port of call for your holiday as another city or area to explore!

- Distance from Nimes city centre: 12km south east of central Nimes

Travel & Transport:
- Parking: There are 580 parking spaces available outside the terminal, with long and short stay options available. You can also pay for a single stay, monthly or annually.
- Car Hire: There are a number of international rental companies based within the terminal, including Avis. Their desks are located just outside the terminal. Passengers are advised to book in advance. Further details of car hire companies can be found in our Car Hire Page.
- Travelling to Nimes: The most common methods of getting from the Airport to central Nimes is by shuttle. It is timed to coincide with flight departures and arrivals. It will drop you at Nîmes airport between 80 and 100 minutes before flight departures. It leaves the airport 15 minutes after arrivals, so you will need to pass through the airport fairly smartly to catch it after your flight. The journey time is around 30-35 mins. You can ask the driver to drop you off at a specific hotel or (in theory) arrange to be picked up at your hotel by phoning in advance. Tel (+33) 4 66 28 14 49.
- Railway Station: As there are no train or coach facilities available at the airport, so taking the shuttle or a taxi is your only option for onward travel if you choose not to hire a car. Once you've reached Nimes town centre there are connections via train and bus to local destinations and France's major cities.
- Airlines: The budget airline Ryanair connects Nimes with London, Liverpool and Brussels.
Services & Facilities:
- Restaurants, Bars & Takeaways: There are several cafe and snack places located within the terminal building, including a rather nice restaurant on the land side of the main building.
- Conference Rooms: There are no dedicated business facilities within the terminal, so business passengers should contact local hotels to check on the availability of such facilities. However, refreshments can be purchased from a number of bars and restaurants within the airport.
- Smokers: Smoking is prohibited inside ALL airport buildings.
Luggage / Animals
- Large / Unusual Luggage: Items such as bikes, skis or other large objects should be checked in as usual and then you will be directed where to take them.
- Animals: On flights between Avignon and the UK, the transport of animals is not allowed either in the hold or in the cabin. For guide dogs, please contact your airline.
Monaco Heliport
If you'd like to arrive in Monaco in style, why not take a helicopter ride from Nice Côte d'Azur airport to the Monaco heliport which is located in the La Condamine district right on the waterfront.
Flights take in the beautiful coastline and are run by Heli Air Monaco and Monacair. It is the only avaition facility in the country and operates flights to and from Nice airport only, unless private charter. Landing at this small heliport is a truly magical experience.
Since it opened in 1987 it has expanded to house eight landing pads, a single terminal and four hangar facilities. There is an underground car park available plus shuttle bus connections to and from the heliport and many locations within Monaco.
La Mole St Tropez Airport
An international airport in Saint Tropez! La Mole Airport is just 15km from Saint Tropez and only 20 minutes by car. It plays an active role in ensuring the accessibility of the peninsula.
Every year, the airport welcomes 5,000 aircraft, amounting to 10,000 flights for several thousands passengers. Regular routes include Geneva to St Tropez, Nice to St Tropez and Sion (Switzerland) to St Tropez.
Azur Helicoptere also offer panoramic tourist flights from this airport. They also host private jets and private charter flights and can be exceptionally busy during the yachting regatta.
